Creating a sustainable future, one sip at a time.

So, Sidekick went on a mission to Dublin to film two businesses also on a mission, to reduce CO2 emissions... lots of 'missions'. Ecoffee Cup and Bread 41 bakery are leading the way with their partnership in sustainable efforts to vanquish single-use cups. I'm filled to the brim with admiration and it's made me consider our own efforts as a business.

Now, why is it a brave move for businesses to remove single-use cups? Well firstly, you have to tell each of your customers to pay for their takeaway reusable cup OR bring their own. You risk them refusing to jump onboard and going elsewhere. However, as Eoin, founder of Bread 41, says "once you can explain the 'why' behind it then people will follow you". And it turns out that they did just that and in the first 6 months of the Ecoffee Cup scheme they stopped 36,000 cups going to landfill. This is a cause that everyone should get involved in.
